If you want to make your lazy summer afternoon perfect you have to get your margarita perfect. There is no drink that makes summer more appealing than a nice chilled margarita. Whether frozen or served straight up, it is the most perfect drink to laze with, play cards over or just drink over. There can be many reasons to drink the perfect margarita but the best reason to make your perfect margarita is for no reason at all!
The margarita is essentially a Mexican cocktail and makes use of tequila, triple sec and lime juice. Traditionally a margarita is shaken with ice and served straight up in a margarita glass rimmed with salt. A variation of this is the frozen margarita is which is made by blending all these ingredients together with ice into a slushy frozen mix. One of the trademarks of a margarita is the salt rimmed glass which actually goes on to make a great margarita simply perfect.
There are many variations of the margarita that are becoming extremely popular with the masses today. The strawberry margarita is one such popular drink of the flavored margarita version. This drink tastes exceptionally wonderful when served as a frozen margarita. You can use fresh strawberries or frozen ones to make an exceptionally superior cocktail drink.
To make a frozen strawberry margarita you will need one and a half ounces of tequila, one ounce of triple sec, one ounce of lime juice or lemon juice freshly squeezed, half a cup of frozen or fresh strawberries, one cup of ice and a strawberry for garnish. All you now need to do is blend all the main ingredients together to get a smooth blend. Pour this blended mix into a salt rimmed chilled margarita glass and serve garnished with a strawberry.
Another margarita variation is the mad cap margarita jelly shot. All you will need is one ounce of lime juice, one ounce of simple syrup, one ounce of water, and one fourth of an ounce of unflavored gelatin, three ounces of white tequila and two ounces of triple sec. To start making your margarita jelly shots begin with pouring the lime juice and water into a glass vessel and add the gelatin in it. Let this mix sit for a minute and then microwave the same for thirty seconds in the high power mode. Make sure that the gelatin has dissolved completely in the mix by stirring it thoroughly. Now add the tequila and triple sec to this mix and pour into shot glasses.
You can even add some food color to this mix before pouring it into the individual shot glasses to give it a more colorful appeal. Refrigerate this mix till it sets or for at least two hours to make the jelly margaritas perfect.
The Blue Lagoon Margarita is another margarita perfect to scintillate the taste buds. It has a fresh sparkling twist and a vivid blue color that makes it so popular. Instead of triple sec, Blue Curacao is used to impart the compelling blueness to the drink along with a slight biting orangey flavor. The tequila, Blue Curacao, a bit of pineapple juice, a slosh of lime and lemon soda, a bit of lime juice and ice are all shaken together. This drink is then strained and then served in a chilled margarita glass.
